We’re proud to introduce the lineup for the 2025 Bourbon Lane Stable 2-Year-Old Partnership. With the final purchase completed last month, we’ve assembled a trio of exciting juveniles from premier 2YO sales across the country.

Mendelssohn – No More Parties filly

Purchased from the OBS March 2YO in Training Sale

• Trainer: Mark Hennig

This flashy filly brings both speed and pedigree. By Mendelssohn and out of No More Parties—a full sister to Grade 1 winner Force the Pass—she hails from a deep female family. Her granddam is a multiple stakes winner, and her half-sister by Gun Runner sold for $700,000. She’ll be trained by Bourbon Lane mainstay Mark Hennig in New York.

Charlatan – Defy filly

Purchased from the OBS April 2YO in Training Sale

• Trainer: Ian Wilkes

• Racing in partnership with: Jim Gladden

This strong, athletic filly is by the exciting young sire Charlatan and out of the Into Mischief mare Defy. She impressed at the sale with her smooth stride and presence and looks like one who could come to hand early. She’ll be trained by Ian Wilkes and will race in partnership with longtime Bourbon Lane supporter Jim Gladden.

Bourbon Courage – Soigne colt

Purchased from the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2YO in Training Sale

• Gallop: Strong and professional

• Foaling Date: 3/10/23 | NY-bred

• Purchase Price: $55,000

• Consignor: Hidden Brook

• Trainer: Jamie Begg

This colt is by Bourbon Courage, one of the best horses ever to carry the Bourbon Lane colors. He’s a big, balanced colt with a real racehorse frame and a solid family behind him. As a New York-bred, he’ll be well-positioned to take advantage of the lucrative NY-bred program and will be trained by Jamie Begg on the NYRA circuit.
