Bourbon Lane Stable’s Spinning Colors turned in a courageous performance yesterday at Saratoga, finishing third in the $150,000 Yaddo Stakes, a 1 1/16-mile turf contest for New York-bred fillies and mares ages 3 and up.
The 5-year-old daughter of Hard Spun broke sharply under Hall of Famer John Velazquez and went straight to the lead. She set honest fractions throughout, carrying the field deep into the stretch, and was only caught in the final strides to finish a game third against a competitive group.
With this effort, Spinning Colors has now surpassed $400,000 in career earnings — a milestone that reflects both her talent and consistency on the track.

We are incredibly proud of her and grateful to everyone who makes days like these possible. Congratulations to trainer Mark Hennig, co-owners HGS Thoroughbreds and Mark Hennig, and of course, our Bourbon Lane partners.
Spinning Colors continues to embody the spirit of a Bourbon Lane horse — tough, talented, and all heart.
