The 2026 racing season has started in the best possible way for Bourbon Lane Stable New Zealand, with our runners delivering three wins from three starts to kick off the year. From elite Group Stakes success to dominant performances on the day, it has been an exciting stretch for our stable and partners.
Queen Zou Delivers a Group 2 Statement
The year began with a major highlight as Queen Zou captured the Group 2 Rich Hill Mile on New Year’s Day. Producing a powerful finish over 1600 meters, Queen Zou stamped herself as one of the top performers early in the New Zealand season.
Her Group 2 victory set the tone for what was to come and marked a significant achievement for the Bourbon Lane NZ operation. Performances like this are what make racing at the highest level so rewarding for our team and partners.

Super Photon Steps Forward at Tauranga
Momentum continued at Tauranga when Super Photon delivered a strong win in Race 2 over 1500 meters in an Open Handicap worth NZD $50,000. He showed maturity and improvement throughout the run, finishing with authority and confirming he is heading in the right direction.
Credit goes to trainer Stephen Marsh and his team for their thoughtful preparation and management. Super Photon continues to progress with every start and remains an exciting horse for the season ahead.
Post Race with Stephen Marsh:
Kiwi Skyhawk Makes It Three From Three
Capping off a perfect start to 2026, Kiwi Skyhawk captured Race 7 at Tauranga on January 8, winning decisively over 2100 meters. His victory also marked Bourbon Lane NZ’s second win on the card.
Kiwi Skyhawk has been exceptionally good to our stable. The four year old is already a Group 3 winner and has now earned NZD $327,550 in prize money. He continues to deliver consistent, high level performances and remains a cornerstone of our New Zealand operation.
Thank You to Our Team and Partners
These results would not be possible without the outstanding work of Stephen Marsh and his entire team, whose dedication and horsemanship are evident every time our horses step onto the track. We are also incredibly grateful to our partners for their continued support and belief in the Bourbon Lane program.
