As the winter sales season comes to a close, McMahon & Hill Bloodstock will be on the grounds this weekend ahead of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale, taking place Monday, February 9, in Lexington, Kentucky. This sale marks the final live breeding stock auction of the season and consistently provides an important opportunity for breeders, owners, and investors to position themselves for the year ahead.

A Sale That Rewards Smart Buying

Over the years, this February marketplace has proven that success is not defined solely by headline prices. Instead, it rewards buyers who understand pedigree, physicals, and commercial appeal and who know how to match the right horse to the right program.

McMahon & Hill Bloodstock has consistently leveraged this environment to secure high-upside prospects for our clients, many of whom have gone on to achieve significant success both on the racetrack and in the sales ring.

Past Success Stories

Fordyce – Purchased for $85,000

Fordyce went on to produce Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Victory USA. Later resold by our client Lee Ackerly for $875,000.

More Oats Please – Purchased for $30,000

Purchased as a broodmare for Rivermist Farm, More Oats Please proved to be an exceptional value buy. She produced Grade 1 winner Peace and War and 2025 Grade 1-placed Hot Mash.

Merryland Monroe – Purchased for $75,000

Merryland Monroe developed into the dam of multiple graded stakes winner Merry Meadow. After earning $852,000 on the racetrack for her owner-breeder William Parsons Jr. and David S. Howe, Merry Meadow later sold for $480,000, further validating the quality behind this family.
