Hard against the bit thereafter, he pulled Brian Hernandez Jr. four wide and around rivals into the stretch, tackled pacesetting Gotta Get Paid (Pomeroy) approaching the final furlong and galloped away an easy four-length winner to give his promising freshman sire (by Maria’s Mon) his first black-type winner and fourth winner overall. A $50,000 Keeneland September graduate, Hasthtag Bourbon fetched $130,000 at this year’s OBS March Sale after working an eighth of a mile in :10 2/5.
